this one left home today and the recipient will get it tomorrow as a birthday gift - i hope they like it . i'm glad i'm not the giver cause i'd be a wreck watching their face to see if they liked it or they were just trying to be nice. but to me it was like letting a rock baby go out into the world . sorry the pics are not too clear but i was in a rush to get a pic before it left and i cannot go take more now . i was grumbling about that red reflection in the beads wondering what caused that and looked down and that's me - i have on a red sweatshirt - there's a photography lesson when photographing things that reflect - no red shirt! kim

Kim, that's gorgeous. You did a really beautiful job. I'm sure you're not going to have to worry about the recipient liking it at all. Great job!!

Hey Kim, I forgot to mention the copper tea-pot on eBay ... Did you hear about that? A gentleman (?) listed a polished copper tea-pot on eBay and when the photo's were sent through ... it showed the individual in his birthday suit ... yup, he was completely naked ! Apparently he did not notice his own reflection in the photo ... or maybe he did? Anyway ... it was one of those eeeeeeuuuuuggggghhh moments . This was months ago and is no longer up for consideration ... for you folks out there who are wondering if it is still listed ;D John

kd yes i did the stone on the genie and it was one of those where you start with some shape and next thing you know you say what was i doing here and then i turned it and voila it was perfect! i got the clasp at fire mountain. kd i'm finding some new places to explore through the ads in the lapidary journals my neighbor gave me - one order i just got this week and was very satisfied with was from this place estore.hhhenterprises.com/e/index.htmlif you don't already get the lapidary journal you really should it will get your creative juices flowing and has some "how to" projects in every issue. kim

Kim,that's so pretty. You are doing some great stuff. Hell, I can't even bevel a d**n rock, so I hate to even think of how bad I'd be a making jewelry! I'd like to do a belt buckle - they are big down here and the bigger the better - but until I can figure out how to turn out a decend rock on the grinder, I don't have an business trying anything else that I won't be able to do! Frustrated enough as it is! Just took a batch out of polish today and they look like crap too! I am not a happy camper right now! llana
