I have seen your setup, do you put weight on the slabs. Does not seem like a 1/4 slab would have enough weight to allow for polishing or it takes a while.

I do put lead weights on the slabs, it speeds up the polishing process. pieces with old shaped tops I have lead shot in bean bags that I use.
