Just brought home a load of stuff that once belonged to some rockhound friends from my childhood. Included was a 24" HP and a 14" HP with an undamaged Lexan hood. First 24" I've seen in the old round rail configuration, would love to know how old it might be.

Good saws. I've had my HP 24 for 60 years and it's still going strong!

Now you really do have a justification for that dancing racoon icon. Nice score - can you really accommodate that much of an addition to your arsenal? This is coming from a guy who is contemplating downsizing his total possessions and trying to keep the maximum (or at least essential) of the lapidary equipment.

I have to decide whether I like the HP or FranTom 24" better and sell the leftover one, not enough big rocks to justify 2, and not enough space. The 14 is staying, and will be parked next to it's non-identical twin. In fact, everything except the 14 and some boxes of grits and polishes will go away, along with lots of stuff that lives in my shed, and at least a ton or two of the rock. If all goes well I (semi) retire and start preparing to move in earnest this coming July. So many rocks to slab up in the meantime...

Nice to have friends like that. Awesome I think that HP might be late 60's or early 70's, I think HP made the model u 24" in 1968.
