Hi all , here are the promised pics of the big barrel and my beachwalk looking for pet wood. enjoy Big barrel just opened up after beachstones 1 week in 60/90 grit stones tipped out rinsed stones crumbs remaining Visit to the beach behind the aluminium smelter at Tiwai point...key requiered to open the locked gate. We went with the 2 of us , looking for pet wood but found none among theother rocks. Anne is a member of the Hokonui rockhound club in Gore from the beach looking to the town of Bluff and Bluff Hill The chimney of the aluminium smelter in the distance The rocks I collected...there is a lot of quartz there, some jasper , june agate , orthoquartzite and others june agate banded quartz and another neat looking rock I accumulate the rocks in buckets , in the blue bucket they are ready for the next grit, have all had 60/90. In the steel bucket they need doing again. Still waiting for extra barrels to handle the workload.. collected too many rocks haha. I installed a twintub outside my rockingroom and dug a small sump hole to take the sludge and water Jack

Beautiful stones, beautiful scenery. Wow! I like the size of your tumbler. The bigger the batch, the better the tumble? I would love to see photos of the machine the bbl fits on. Great view.

Holy cow Jack, I wanna see a pic of the machine that holds that barrel too. How many pounds does that hold? That June Agate is beautiful ... umm yeah, me wants some too *smile* What an addiction, I want some of every rock I see, like that banded quartz, that's really cool. Thanks so much for taking the pics, it's just great to see what things are like over on the other side. Cher

Excellent pics, looks like you can really tumble some big stuff in those barrels! I look forward to the final results.
And what an absolutely stunning beach....any chance it gets warm enough to swim/wade in by January or February?

Thanks Jack, guess maybe that was before I found the forum. I was looking at those slabs you cut, that one on the bottom with all the swirls and things is really pretty. Did you ever find out what it was? Those rocks look so big, you must have a huge saw to cut them.
