Okay...I think I got a decent pic you guys at last. The gold and brown pendant is my very first try ever at woven wire. I have a book "Woven Wire Jewelry" by Chandler and Ritchey and it's so easy to follow. I was inspired and even though I originally intended to make a cab setting I couldn't get it to cooperate and, instead, put it around the middle of the stone. This is an experment. I don't really like the stone...muddy brown and featureless...but now I like it with the wrapping. This is SO easy to do with just some cheap brass wire and a plastic clamp. If you can braid hair you can make this. The other two are in the same pic from the other day... sodalite and the rose quartz. Comments are welcome.

Those are great, I especially like the way you did that rose quartz, very nice and inspiring. The sodalite is great too. That braiding on the other one is really neat, definitely something to consider.
Where do you get the brass wire? Was it hard to work with? What size is it?

sands, I glued the wire on the back. I hope it works...seems to be holding so far.
Cher...I just buy the cheap craft wire at Michaels for my experiements...it comes in all colors for about three bucks a roll, probably about 15 feet I think. That brass wire is 22 or 24 guage I think. Very easy to bend. The other wire is 22 guage sterling( hey look! I learned how to spell STERLING...god...sorry about that in the earlier post everyone...I must have been channeling Stirling Marlin).

nice stuff, Herm, how does the sodalite stay in there, is that glued as well? how long did it take to drill the hole in the rose quartz?
the braid looks cool, too!

Hello Herm,
I like the woven wire ... you have done an excellent job with it.
I most probably would have had to send it to you ... as I don't think I would have been able to do it near that nice!
Great job!
Thanks for the photo's,
John
