I was always taught "red sky at night, sailor's delight, red sky in the morning, sailors take warning". Did you have rough seas that day? or since it's the southern hemisphere does that saying not apply?

my grandmother and great-grandmother were both exceptional artists and every time i look at a sunrise or sunset i wonder if God lets them have a turn at painting the sky - yep i think this is what artists in heaven get to do! absolutely beautiful!

I couldn't stop staring at the photos. Absolutely surreal. And Tom stole my word. Breathtaking. After staring open mouthed for a while you have to remember to breath.

lmao at those cats - look at the absolute disdain on the face of the one on the middle branch - catbirds must normally migrate to the south lol.

If I were a cat and there was snow on the ground, that's where I'd be! Llana, I made a collage of "Texas Sunsets" for my father for his birthday after he moved to GA. It's hanging on the wall, but the GA sunsets are every bit as glorious. My Mom told me that, shotrly after they moved here from TX they were out on thier deck watching an incredibly beautiful sunset (they have a magnificent western view) my Dad said "Nan would love this. She's going to move up here one day." And I did ;D

Jack, profound photos. Absolutely wonderful shots. THose cats have definitely found a nice warm place to roost, at least they won't have to dig themselves out after a snow. It seems the beauty of each place is tempered with an item to watch out for. Spear plants prickley pear, brown recluse, pygmy rattlers. Cockroaches four inches long. Hey, those shots are great! Both down there, and over there. I got to see the arroyo cactus in bloom this year. That was a first! Got to see the desert in bloom. Wonderful. Lots of yellow flowers. Happens for one day, once in a while. I was lucky. Wonderful shots.
