Snow on the ground, that means rocks in the kitchen. Ok, tumbled rocks in the kitchen, there's rocks waiting for their turn on the counter. I used a bucket with a strainer, here's a couple of pics. I'm experimenting with gravel in one barrel and pellets in the other. Also, three of the "preforms" that are moving on. ![](http://res.cloudinary.com/mt67/image/upload/v1543262056/gkmx9ohsuw8dlttxvyev.jpg) ![](http://res.cloudinary.com/mt67/image/upload/v1543262061/tsiynbhwuwilmdvdjr62.jpg) ![](http://res.cloudinary.com/mt67/image/upload/v1543262150/ynel12xbfntpxdmwxucd.jpg) ![](http://res.cloudinary.com/mt67/image/upload/v1543262153/ztyr20krwot3dbbncgx9.jpg) ![](http://res.cloudinary.com/mt67/image/upload/v1543262147/p8snpa1om8azcgwvjgit.jpg)

Hmm, never considered using rabbit turds as a media. Let us know how it turns out.

Winter tumbling, for most of us, brings a whole new set of challenges.

I suppose I am lucky, my garage is heated in the Summer and cooled in the Winter

Winter tumbling, for most of us, brings a whole new set of challenges. Yep, I'm learning that.

Has there been an obvious difference between the gravel and the pellets? The rocks look very nice.
I plan on tumbling in my front hall utility room as long as I can. It is heated a little, but not insulated, so pretty cold in there.

It is heated a little, but not insulated, so pretty cold in there. Not much of a difference (other than the gravel being way easier to work with), but the more I think about it the more I don't think that it is a controlled experiment. The difference between the rocks being round and the cuts being thin and flat would probably skew the results- I'll have to try it again sometime with like material. I'm just trying to figure out which works best for me. I combined the rocks and the cuts that were ready to move to the next stage (and the rocks and cuts that needed another week in course). Thanks for the compliment on the rocks, I think they're coming along nicely. I'm tumbling in the garage still, it's not heated but it's somewhat insulated so it's also pretty cold.
