Received from rads This just went from 4 days at Medium grit to pre-polish. I love it. The colors are different than any I have seen before. There are some small druzy pockets, too. About 2.5" long.

That's a farm lane fossil...lol. Comes from a huge pile of stone we use to lay into our lanes in the spring. Originally, it was roof top gravel from a Meijers store near me, they sold them to us when the roof was re-done. It has paid for itself in fossil joy, every child who comes to visit our house leaves with a bunch of fossils and smiles.

rads What is considered road gravel there is much the same as gravel and landscape rock here. They are both full of fossils. I shared some of the fossils you sent with a friend who is a teacher and musician. Added a few fossil shells, tumbled rocks and pet wood. He loves anything rocks and fossils, as do some of his students. You should have seen his face light up when I gave him a pint bag full of rocks/fossils last night. Showed them all to his band partner. We had a great time educating the partner. He greatly appreciated them. Some will be gifts for his students, the rest he will keep. Shared with him my process for hand shaping/polishing Petoskey. He is going to try it. Thanks again for your generosity. It will brighten the lives of many.

That makes my day, thank you. Good on you for sharing the gift with others. Picking stones/fossils from driveways and landscaping areas can be the start of a lifelong hobby for many. I can remember my grand parent's driveway was full of pyrite when I was a lad and I truly thought it was paved with gold.
