This is what happened at my place on December 2. These photos were taken before another 2" fell. Total of 6" of snow on top of 1/10" ice. Very heavy snow, due to temps. Some has now melted and turned into ice.

Beautiful scenery. I always loved the way snow covers pine trees. It makes it so quiet. Everything gets muffled. Vince and I lived on a mountain in a cabin when we first got married in the Ponderosa pines at about 6,300 feet. There were some days it was just magical (until we had to go a shovel out to get to work). The ice sucks, though.

I'm not a huge fan of winter, even though I've never lived anywhere without it. But I can appreciate the beauty and peacefulness that comes with it. Thanks for sharing!

Great pictures, sure looks like winter has hit with a vengeance....lol. Hope you are keeping warm and dry. Watch that ice, not fun to fall when you are more advanced in years (ie...not a teenager anymore...lol).
