What? No big dent? Oh, so you just tapped it. But guess it was hard enough to do the job, lol.
I hate landline phone/internet issues. Called AT&T to get a lower price/better deal on my bill. I have been an AT&T customer since before it was AT&T. I think it was called Pacific Bell back then, part of Ma Bell. I've had this same phone number since 1978. I called them, and they lowered my bill, and had a tech come out and replace my router with a much faster one. They call it "company loyalty" and want to keep you happy. Try it!
Only problem, with a new network name and password, all computers, laptops phones and tablets had to have the network setting changed. Even my printer! Have an old XP laptop that had been printing wirelessly, now it will not. I think the tech deleted the old network the XP was linked to, and it won't link directly. Will get if figured out. Enjoying my savings, though.
Also had to call my cable company (Cox) when I started losing channels a few weeks ago, thought it was the strong winds that blew through at the time. A tech came the very next day (a Saturday!). He had just found out through the grapevine that the ROVI boxes that we have been using for years are going to be yanked, effective Jan 1. The techs just found out about this! A lot of people are going to be upset!
Once the new Contour boxes were installed, I had to call the company and talk to them about my steadily increasing bill. They also were able to accommodate me, dropping channels that I don't watch, so my bill went down. They even added 4 premium channels that I did not have previously, still much cheaper than it had been. Of course, prices are only guaranteed for 12 months, so I will need to call them in a year to get set up again. Oh yeah, I have been with Cox for 25 years. Customer loyalty.

Used to be, whenever my internet disconnected on me, it was one of their own messing around in the box.
Hmmm... what would happen if I disconnected this wire? Sometimes I felt as though they were being gremlins, pulling and switching wire around.
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, catch an AT&T tech by the toe. Ha ha! (we never said tiger )

Yep I'm from the old school of get a bigger hammer...m stly A number of years ago I was getting frustrated while repairing a guitar at a music store. So, I took a break, went out to my car, came back in carrying a 3 lb. mash hammer and said "I needed a bigger hammer." A guy who'd been watching me work turned white as a sheet. Turned out he owned the guitar I was working on. The store owner didn't think it was funny. I didn't get called back for many repairs after that.
