That starfish is a pretty funny looking shell. Looks like a baby crown of thorns starfish.
Nice collection though, especially the cowries.
I know who to send my extra shells to now.

Sure, send them my way. Those shown are about 4" to 6". I love the Star Fish. Yes, it is a mature Crown of Thorns. I also have some large corals and other larger shells. Only about 20 in the collection of larger ones right now. It contains both modern and fossil shells.

I used to collect all sorts of shells when I was out scuba diving. Corals I bought. Have a 90 pound cats paw coral, a hybrid fire coral with a birdsnest coral, finger coral, etc. There is a great place in St.George, Utah that if they still do it sells corals at great prices. Have not been up there in a very long time.

Here are some of the beautiful additions to my shell/sea creature collection. Thanks vegasjames for the great Christmas present. I did not have a Sea Urchin, natural sand dollar or any Chiton scales.

I am impressed that you knew those were chiton scales. I use to collect these gumboot chiton scales up in Monterrey when I would dive up there. Great for making Native American crafts.

I had seen the chiton used for hair accessories in the past. Very cool pieces.
