The snow in The Wizard of Oz was asbestos! Bizarre! Asbestos is commonly claimed to be the cause of mesothelioma, but this is misleading. Mesothelioma has been found to be caused by the simian vacuole virus type 40 (SV40) that also causes some other cancers in humans. Asbestos is a co-factor in for the formation of mesothelioma likely by activating the SV40 virus. Just like how estrogens and progesterone do not cause cancer but do activate cancer viruses such as the human papilloma viruses.

We still have lead in various sources such as garden hoses, products to hide gray hair, wines (red in particular) etc.
Cancer forming formaldehyde and dangerous hormones in milk.
Formaldehyde, phosgene, cadmium, etc. in cigarettes.
Neurological damaging methanol being formed from aspartame (Equal, Nutrasweet, etc.) that metabolizes in to cancer forming formaldehyde.
Highly estrogenic phlalates in baby bottle nipples, pacifiers, teething rings, etc. Estrogenic bisphenol A (BPA) in polycarbonate water bottles and blender containers, lining food cans and aluminum cans, in many paper receipts, etc.
The list can go on and on.
