I just bought this bench vise from Harbor Freight for my wife's new (to her) jeweler's bench. It's $20, but use a 20% off coupon & it's $16. You can't beat that. There are 2 clamping heads. One has smooth jaws & one has a knurled pattern with a couple of pre-cut holes to clamp different diameters. I'm not sure how useful those holes will be for me.
You can rotate the head section to any angle you want. Once bolted or clamped to your bench, you can rotate the main vise body 360 degrees.
Many things from Harbor freight are of questionable quality, but this one is good. Edit: Here's the direct link to the vise: www.harborfreight.com/2-1-2-half-inch-table-swivel-vise-97160.htmlLynn

Are the checkered jaws 3 inches wide? It does look like a great buy.

I agree that's a handsome vise. May need to check that out myself.
Thanks for the info Lynn!

Nice little vice. I picked up the last one in the store the other day thanks to this thread. Oh yeah, I had a 25% off coupon so it was like $15.
