Please don't pick on the hole, I drilled from the wrong side so the bigger hole ended up in front. Took over 1/2 hour with the dremel but I got it. I was really pleased with this until I realized I didn't have a single bead or beading component in copper so I cut it off. Looked pretty cool though. Thanks for looking. Cher

Well done, Rosy, I love that bail! You cut it off? Do it the same way with whatever metal wire you choose, that looks great!

I thought about the black cord after I cut it off I think my grandson would have liked it alot. I need to check into some of that stuff, black leather would have been cool too. Thanks for the compliments ;D it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be but I did it 3 times before I got it right. Cher

Hey, Cher, that is definitely cool looking! Think I'm gonna try that too! Good thing we all live in different areas,we can steal, er, borrow other's ideas for our own stuff and not be in direct competition.
That would look neat on a black cord or leather cord.

You know what really bites. I cut the bail off, took a gold colored eye pin and made a new one ... I don't have any freakin beads to match this stone. I need to go on a bead hunt to get some different reds. Cher

That is a really precise wrapping job. Well done. I wish my bails looked like that in the beginning.

Thanks Doc, coming from you after seeing some of your jewelry, I consider that a great compliment. That is why I redid it three time tho, they weren't just perfect so it wasn't good enough. Have to get me some more of the gold filled wire. This was 18 gauge and seemed to be plenty heavy enough. I think of how freaking stupid I am ... the 18 gauge would have been heavy enough to make a hook and loop for using as the closure for it. I could have left this one on ... Thanks to all of you for the compliments too. If you want to try it, this is how I did mine. Start with making 3 loops for one side of the top, run through the hole then up and wrap the neck up to the first coils then finish with 3 wraps to match the first ones. Make sense? I tried doing the neck wrap first then doing the top coils but it seemed to work better starting at the top. Cher

Cher, I'd really like to learn how to make one of those.. I think you should do a picture tutorial, like John did on his grinding. In other words, I NEED a picture ' cause I can't figure out exactly what you were talking about telling how to do it! llana

Sure Llana, I would be happy to do one but give me a couple of days ok. I've got the worst cold in the world right now, been coughing so bad it hurts to breath.

No hurry, Cher. I have made a promise to myself to finish the pile of stones I have been working on with the grinder before I start on anything else! Need some of them to top off my walking sticks and some of them I need for Christmas presents! My favorite part of grinding is shaping the stone - could care less for the sanding and polishing them. In fact, have seriously thought about tossing them in the vibe to finish them! But made myself change belts and have got them all through the 220 stage and about half through the 400 grit stage. Only 600, 1200 and polish to go and I may yet toss them in the vibe. That would sure free up some time to do some other stuff I have in mind for Christmas gifts. I either need a few more hours in the day or a clone to get some of this done! The clone can go out, work and bring home the bacon while I stay home and work on my craft projects! llana (heading back to the grinder)
