Hi folks, I'm new to the forum. I joined because I have a bunch of Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper that someone gave me that I'm looking to give away for FREE (or in return for a cool little thank you gift or something??) to someone who can use it. Probably 3-4 shoe boxes worth of rocks, some really clearly with poppies, others unsure. Sizes are quarter size to tennis ball rocks.
I'm in Redwood City, CA (SF Bay Area).
If you're not local I'm happy to ship them to you at your expense.
Feel free to email me for a pickup: bryan (dot) hains at gmail

I would love some! BTW, I was born in Redwood City (a long time ago) I could trade for some Cedar City agate, Indian Blanket jasper & Holt Canyon Agate. Lynn

I would be interested in some. I have various materials I can trade if you have a preference for certain types of stone, colors or patterns.

If you had enough I would be interested as well. I could probably dig around and see what I could send your way once it warms up some!

What a wonderful offer you are making.

Hi all, lots of requests as predicted. I'd prefer it if someone could come pick it up. Mailing and reimbursement for shipping etc will be tricky and maybe expensive given the weight (??). It looks like I have a few local people interested so will go with them. If they fall through will repost and try to work something else out. Bryan

For future reference look in to flat rate shipping, which is easy and really not that expensive. Even with the padded mailers I order from the Post Office I can get an average 10 pounds of stone in to an envelope and it ships for about $7.30.

Certainly understand, Wish we were local , thank you for offering to the group. Someone local will get some cool stuff. Shipping isn't too bad and would gladly prepay in future. Have a great New Year!!

Thanks for your offer!
I am new to rockhounding and also just started to doing some work lapidary work. I would love to get some of your materials to try out. I have heard a lot of MHPJ and hope that one day I can find and collect some specimen in person. I also live close by in the city Cupertino. I can stop by to pick up your rocks and give you something back in return... Let me know. Thanks!

Good day Bryan,
I realize that it has been a while since your post, but if you had a little left (even just a couple rocks), then I would be interested.
I used to live in Sunnyvale for 30 years, and actually looked (unsuccessfully) for this Jasper before moving to the Southwest. It's been quite a while since then. I will send a message via the email you provided just in case.
At any rate, it is great that you are giving away materials like this!
