You are getting better and better. They look great! You do real well on the edges. Your fashion of cutting is, in my opinion, way better than a calibrated cab.

what's really scarey sands is those are breathtaking in the photo and i know the photos don't do your cabojohns any justice so should i be lying down when i get these or if i'm in my vehicle at the box to be sure to put it in park so my foot doesn't slip off the brake! you have outdone yourself and you definitely beat it! that one on the left bottom almost reminds me of the pietersite. ohhhhhhhhhh i love them! toad it is morrisonite. i love the morrisonite! kim

yeh, Sands, you are getting REAL good at this stuff, your new listings on eBay look great too, tho the mex lace rectangular one is a bit washed out for detail.
love the morrisonite, spectacular colors!
what are you going to do with them Kim?

going to have them set a few at a time kd. the guy i've talked to is still designing the setting - trying to make a universal setting so he can easily modify it no matter what shape i bring in. originally i thought i would sell them afterward but i don't think i can part with the ones from sands or bear creek - especially if someone bought them locally and i ran into them later -might snatch it from their neck and run hollering MINE, MINE, MINE - but i will definitely post pics when the 1st 5 are done (that's how many he traced so far). i have a little collection going ;D.

oh yeah sands that pic is way better! i'll be checking my box. can't wait to see them! kd he's designing a sterling silver setting with bail for them. i took the 1st 5 i got from sands and he traced them so he can design the settings. i took some pics with me of some i found online that were freeform but set and showed him what i did or didn't like about them and left the rest in his creative hands. the trick is he's trying to come up with a universal design he can use over and over on any i bring in no matter what shape or size. i'm trying so hard to be patient . kim

Very pretty sands!! I'm with doc,,,,,I like the free forms much better then the calibrated cabs.I think they have much more "life" to them. Morrisonite jasper is getting very rare and expensive. The claim is all dug out and there is just no more of it to be had. Those cabs are worth a lot more then you might think!! About a month ago I sent 2 1lb pieces of Morrisonite to a jeweler in NH.He will cut one slab off of each for himself and another to make a 14k gold pendant for my wife with chain!! He will send back the remaing pieces to me and I will stash them away again. Tom

Tom stole my reply! (just kidding) I have to agree that I like the freeform cabs better than the formed ones. It just seems like you can let the spirit shine through the rock sands. great job.

Sands and Kim, those are absolutely breathtaking! Sands you are a true artist when it comes to these cabojohns. You just get better and better! And I have to agree with Herm, doc and Tom, the freeform cab are much prettier than the plain ole uniform cabs. And you just have a natural talent for cutting them just right to bring out the beauty in the stone. Checked out the ones on at eBay - they are all just spectacular! Kim, I can't wait to see the setting being designed for them. I think I would be real careful if you wear one - someone might run up to you, jerk it off and run away saying "thanks, it's mine now!" In other words, it's probably a good thing you don't live close to me! I would be sorely tempted to do just that! llana
