Hey, nice looking stones! What are those pale green ones (right hand side, half way down from top in the first photo)....look kind of like pale jade. I like 'em.
Nice hunk of rose quartz at the top of each pic too!

Beautiful, what a great shine you got. Is that the aventurine, right below the rough on the top pic? The pale green stuff, that's really pretty. And (top pic again) on the left side, the red / yellow jasper, is that a local stuff for you. Looks a lot like the stone in my picture of my first wire wrapped bail. Local for me but not alot of it around. Great job, super colors!!

Ed, those are mightly pretty! Great shine. I love just the green adventurine. What's that black and white one on the top right? It's pretty neat looking.

Great job Stoner Ed! That green aventurine is some pretty stuff when it's all polished up. I see you have a gummy piece of rose quartz there as well.

Hi all Thanks for the support. Sometimes I think we are our own worst critic. First, my wife bought those two pieces of rough at the grocery store. They sell them as aquarium rocks, for $1.49/lb. As far as I can tell they are the real deal and not just dyed different colors. Those pale green stones are local rock I picked up in a stream here in the foothills of San Jose. They have black markings on them that almost look like what you find in moss agate. Cher, that is the green adventurine near the top and the red/yellow jasper was in the crate of rocks I got with my slab saw. Llana, the one you're talking about is actually dark blue(shows up better in the outdoor pics) and it is from my brother-in-law's backyard about 20 miles north of where I live. Kd, I'm still learning how to use this digital camera and how to manipulate the photos after they're downloaded. I've been using titanium oxide with Borax for my polish. It's been working well for me.
Thanks again, Ed

AOK Ed,,,,,You've done a nice job an the rocks and for a starter on the digital you did great!! We don't have much in the way of rock shops here in CT so I get my rocks anywhere, anyway I can. Your wife got yours at the grocery store and I get mine from the local pet shop!! Pet Rocks ?? LOL Thanks for the pic's and keep up the good work!! Tom Here's a pic of one of the loads I bought there for about #1.50/lb.

Wow Tom. Are those what they sell for aquarium rock? Looks like there's some jaspers in there along with some agate and pet wood. Who needs rock shops!
