I tell ya- there was a time that I lived all year for the partying on New Year's Eve. But, now, I'm just going to make an appearance at one and call it a night. Maybe get a little frisky at midnight. Assuming I'm not asleep. Getting old.
Here's hoping you all have a great night doing what you want to do.

Same as we've done for the last 15 years, we'll stay at home out of everyone's way. Top three reasons I'm okay with that:
3) If I want to have a few drinks, I don't have to worry about driving or paying a premium for alternate transportation. 2) I'm not a big fan of being in a crowd. Love people, just not all at one time.
1) Last time I went out to a New Year's Eve party, I came home engaged to be married.

Quiet evening here too. Going to cook fresh caught bluegill for supper and have a few beers. Per my normal I'll watch the ball drop in times square (11pm here) and go to bed 😆
Happy New Year everyone!

Since you are already married, that's probably a good plan.

I must admit that the party I may show up at is being thrown by my daughter. All the "kids" will be there and they are harping on us showing up. Maybe.

I have never been a New Year's Eve fan, even when I was younger.
We'll be passing up the Boot Drop in downtown Prescott (they have 2 - one for the the old farts and kids at 10:00 and then another at midnight) for a quiet evening at home with a Patagonian shrimp and au gratin potatoes dinner. I'm making a bananas foster french toast casserole to throw in the oven tomorrow morning, too.
Our usual MO is watch the ball drop at 10:00 and then most likely go to bed. Exciting stuff here!

A boot drop ha ha
A tradition for New Years day is French Onion soup Nothing like starting the New Years with a cry --from slicing onions, So years ago I got the idea of having the butcher pre slice the onions
Tonight I’ll drink a glass of white wine from the soup recipe One year I had drank too much of it Let me telly ya-- French Onion soup not as good with red wine Although they gave the onions a nice purple tinge///mostly

For the last 6 years we've got together with some of the band buddies, pull out the acoustics and reminisce......A few of us used to do New Years Eve gigs at the local lodges, but getting all of us together for rehearsals (prior to) during the holidays has been difficult since our kids are now strung out all of the country and we spend most of time with them from Thanksgiving to New Years......this year the wives have something planned and 5 of us are all home (there are 8 members in the band).......so we've been requested to bring our own bottles and an appetite. If it's like the past, we'll start playing late afternoon until mid-night and crash where we're at.....I'll be assigned Breakfast duty...eats to be determined later.....lol

As usual, we thought about staying up till midnight just to keep the dogs calm but even that didn't happen. We were snoozing by 9:30. Either the illegal fireworks weren't too bad this year or we all slept through it. Usually some kid drops a few M80's while driving down the freeway frontage behind our back yard sound wall but we didn't even hear that this year. Garage Rocker Randy that made me laugh out loud. You said it as if it was a bad thing to be avoided. Just think of all those joyful little creatures around you that you might have missed out on if you hadn't gone out that night
