I have no idea how to read a wiring diagram. Could someone please tell me where to hook up my cord? I don’t care which way the motor turns. Thanks.

The ones marked line are your cord, earth wire goes under that blue coloured screw on the case of the motor.
So one goes under the terminal with the blue wire the other goes under the terminal slightly to the left of the blue earth screw.
That diagram is an actual picture of the layout.

Just a little clarification ... What he called "blue earth screw" is bluish in the photo, but in living color it will be green. Also, what he is referring to by "earth" we would call "ground" here in the states. Just saying...

Thanks for that rwa, Earth and ground are mostly interchangeable here, I wondered about the colour of the screw but just went with what I saw, it would be green here too.

Some motors will say "common" on one terminal. Or "grounded terminal". It works either way but best to connect white (neutral) wire there. Most common motors have red and black wires to change rotation but that doesn't matter either. Some foreign to US cords use different colors as well but just keep the neutral and hot leads connected properly.

I just couldn't find those words in the pics. I thought it might be easier to see if I moved my head and the flashlight around to see behind the wires.

Look on the wiring diagram, at the two terminals where the LINE—aka your cord—is connected.
Your black wire should go on the terminal marked L
Your white wire should go on the terminal marked C, or common

I did mention I was clueless on this subject, right?

You're going to wire this? Awfully heavy, but to each his own, I guess. I recommend a simple copper bezel instead. What are you going to use for a bail?
