There are so many pretty rocks here, but everything seems boring after looking at the Mexican agates. You need to save dessert until the end. I have thought about your stolen rock several times since it disappeared. I still makes me sad. I'm glad you sort of replaced it. The first three are my favorites. I love the speckles on number two.

Hard to pick favorites from this outstanding batch. So glad you had the other half of #1 and it turned out so awesome. It's my favorite, too, but the two following it are also very high on list!

I like them all, but I think #7 is my favorite, just because it's so different. Do you know what it is?

Gorgeous stuff Chuck! I love Mexican agates and really appreciate the polished piece you sent with the grove wrap I bought from you last month.
Karma will catch up with the @sshole who stole the other half of number one.

Chuck.........out of curiosity, what was this last batch stone size and what was the capacity of the Lot-O.....?........from soup to nuts, what were the cycle times and were there any re-charges in the mix, any fillers and type of fillers if applicable........?
I don't keep up on all the members processes, but you seem to crank out loads of nice end product frequently.........I have a buddy who uses the Lot-O twin and he has recommended I "bite the bullet" and get on board, but I don't process the volume he does and need to find a way to justify the investment. We've compared results on occasion (my vibe process/his Lot-O) with like materials.........he's still out performing me with less "baby-sitting", but If I extend my process a little longer, I do get comparable results, just more time invested.....!
Any thoughts appreciated.......Thanks.

Any thoughts appreciated.......Thanks. I obviously can't speak to the Loto itself (as a non-user...yet), but I will say this. I've done a bunch of reading and research. If you are considering one, and specifically the double vs single, just know that they are designed to be filled in each barrel to work optimally. Single barrel is about 4 lbs. If you're not cranking out a whole bunch of material, the single barrel will probably work for you. I'm REAL close to buying one. Might be nice to cut off about 6 weeks after coarse.

Beautiful batch Chuck! #1 through #5 are most impressive to me. Bummer about losing the other half of #1. When I demonstrate I keep my best stuff under glass so it's harder to steal. If I wasn't watching, someone would probably try to walk off with the whole glass case. Unfortunately the thieves don't walk around with a big sign on them saying "THIEF", so I don't trust anybody I don't know.

Thanks- Yeah those agates really steal the thunder from things like the tiger eye. I will be bummed when I run out but if I just keep tossing in 4-5 each week they will last for awhile. Chuck

Any thoughts appreciated.......Thanks. That's a whole bunch of questions. All rocks go into my loto after stage one. All rocks spend a total of 7 days in the loto. I have polished rocks every Saturday. I have been running the loto at least 6 years non stop and have never weighed any rocks. I could not tell you how many pounds I put in. I fill it until it is full. The only filler I have every used is ceramics from the rock shed because I find it very reliable. Every batch has a minimum of 20% mixed sized ceramics. Loads that have several rocks with large flats like sawed nodules or slabs get a much higher rate of ceramic filler. I run between 36 and 48 pounds in stage one at all times to keep a single loto fed. That also includes a lot of weekly hand grinding of flaws. If no hand grinding is done it would take another 12 pounds of stage one rolling to make up for it. Volume of finished product has never been my goal. That is why I prefer the small loto over the larger vibe tumblers. I think quality control is easier to manage on a smaller scale. Chuck

Number 2 has my vote. Those agates are really showstoppers! Yup, they kinda steal the thunder.

"20% min. ceramics and full load (single Loto-O) ran for a week at a time after 1st stage rough and some hand grinding".............My vibes run btw a 4lb and 5lb full capacity with ceramics, so similar to full single Loto-O which is what I'm looking for......good to know.
