That's really cool stuff. I'd like to know how it's collected. Is it just laying around in chunks? How often are complete skeletons found? I know you didn't find this yourself, so I don't expect answers, but I'm still curious.

I really have a soft spot in my heart dino bones. Their current appearance is so different from when they were alive. That’s a good thing.

Thanks everyone! Jugglerguy I did find mosasaur bone in West Texas several years back. There were pieces weathering out of an area that was reminiscent of the Chinle Formation. My guess is it's a similar situation up in Utah where this stuff probably originated.

We have fossils galore around here, but they’re all little brachiopods and stuff, not giant dinosaurs. I can see the whole critter. With dinosaurs, I would imagine that you only get to see a small part.

Me too, Bluesky78987! On the rare occasion all the stars are aligned right I may only have to try 2 or 3 times to get it flush to solder. I think I've only nailed it 1 or 2 times in the years I've been smithing.
I'm happy to say, those days are gone!

Great tune stephan ! Just cut these from a chunk I picked up in Quartzsite last weekend Thanks! Hard to go wrong with AIC. Or with Dino bone from Quartzite, apparently.
One of these days, I'll make it there. Just gotta accomplish three things first: 1. come up with some spare cash, 2. come up with some room to keep rocks, and 3. convince wife that more rocks are needed.
Great slabs!
