Ok, the wire came from another necklace. I bought the beads at a thrift shop and polished the flint. What do you think? cookie

Looks nice to me cookie. Good choice of beads to match the flint. I like the flint too. Great job. Oh, and if you put it together, doesn't matter where the parts came from, so that's not cheating.

Looks great Cookie! I like! Really brings out the color of the flint and gives it ZING!
I wish my first necklace - that I did tonight - would have come out just half as good! Got everything stung on the wire and am kinda sorta happy with that part, but I'll be danged I cannot get the stone attached to it to my satisfaction. My big, old clunky hands just won't cooperate! I finally got so frustrated I just gave up for the evening - will see if I can do better tomorrow!

very tribal looking, Cookie, love the colors...can't make out the clasp, what did you use there? looks made for a small neck! i love the rock!
yeh, that's not cheating at all, i often browse flea markets and garage sales for cheap beads and findings...
way to go, Cookie!

Good job Cookie, love the colors. I'm with Ed, doesn't matter where the parts come from if you put it together. I'll tell you this much, after buying beads, I'll be haunting garage / estate sales next summer looking for beads and stuff. There's nothing wrong with turning something old into something new.

Thanks all! KD, it's actually memory wire and I just stuck a safty pin in the ends so it would be round for the photo. I wore it today and figured out one thing, it will need a clasp. I stone is so heavy, every time I bent over, it fell off! Someone told me to hit an estate sale on the second day and you can usually get a bucket of old costume jewlery for next to nothing. Great way to get beads and clasps.

Cookie,
Hey that looks great ... very nice indeed!
Cheating ... are you kidding ... if it's easier, quicker, less stressful ... it's not cheating ... it's innovative!
Keep up the great work!
