Went through the rest of MHPJ today. found this piece. I have never seen any MHPJ posted here before that contained quartz. Is this something common? I love how the PJ contrasts with the quartz. I had to Photoshop my photos to get the true colors.

It’s pretty common with the variety that has more black and less yellow. I was just looking at a piece yesterday, thinking it should be called “poppy quartz.” I’ll post some pics in a bit, when I get to my computer.

I had to Photoshop my photos to get the true colors. Here are some quartzy ones I've made over the years: Slightly poppy-heavy: DSC_0529_Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper Freeform cab by Stephan Telm, on Flickr IMG_5891_Morgan Hill poppy jasper freeform cab by Stephan Telm, on Flickr And, evidently, I didn't photograph as many of them as I thought. My stash of rough, though is probably about 30% that variety.

That's a sweet piece Beth! Thanks. Luck of the draw. I noticed there is some rough with quartz running through it, too.
