Hi all, Well, we went out today to the same tree farm we have been going to fo 4 years now, me, Marlena and Michael, and picked out our tree. I allways bury a quarter in the place the tree stood and thank Mother nature for her gifts. We set it up (with Marlena promting "A little to the left...") and had fun decorating it. As is our tradition, Michael placed the dove on the top of the tree: Perfectly posed traditional family photos around the tree: And, of couse, marshmellow roasting: I can't get enough of that beautiful little face ;D Hope you guys are enjoying these special moments with your loved ones as well. Happy Hollidays! cookie

Looks like fun Cookie, what kind of tree is that? Looks kind of like a cedar tree but fuller. Wonder where Mother Nature spends her quarters .. *smile*.

Well, Cher, she's got a dollar now, and there are coke machines all over... The tree is a Leeland pine. The first year we went to this tree farm, Marlena was petting the owners dog. The lady said "We named him Leeland because that's the kind of trees we grow here. Isn't that funny?" Marlena thought for a moment.. "No".

Cookie, you took great pictures. Thank you. Back when I had a family, we would purchase a tree from a tree farmer. It was a live tree. We would trim it, keep it watered, etc. When it was warm enough, we would bring it outside. When the frost left, we would plant it. Just before I got divorced, we had a grove of trees, each one bigger than the other. One real advantage to a live tree. We heated with wood back then. The live tree presented little fire hazard. The pot it was planted in also had dirt. The cats we had couldn't tip it over. They tried however. Each morning the ornaments were all over the floor, and the tinsel was all over the floor. Merry Christmas and good health to you, your family, and to us all. Have peace, joy, and hope.
