My son called me last night to see if I'd clean out his barrel on the qt66. Twist my arm, right? Anyway he's been throwing some Fairburns in so I thought I'd share a couple of pics. Moved the first one on, he wanted to tumble the second one for a bit longer to see how it would turn out. According to everything I've read, collectors would rather have untouched Fairburns than tumbled ones. That being said, I think they're looking good.

First one is beautiful. Could take a while to remove all the pits from the second one.

First one is beautiful. Could take a while to remove all the pits from the second one. I thought so too, about the first one. Not sure he wants to completely smooth the second one- I think he was more interested in seeing if it would bring more of the patterns out and keeping it as a specimen piece. It almost looks like it wants to break in more than one spot to me. But then again I don't really know much yet so it may be just fine.
