Hi all. Just took a mixed batch out of polish, mostly local rock with a few agates. Pic was taken under incandescent lamp so the colors are not very true. And here is what went in as my next batch. Mostly Mex Crazy Lace, Green Adventurine, and some agate slabs from the local rock shop. I cut up the crazy lace I bought from Minerun Gems, and there were a lot of nice peices in there. Some looked kinda plain on the outside but when I cut into them I found out that they all had nice banding. I'm going to start taking before and after pics on all my batches from now on cuz lately by the time the rocks go thru all the stages, I can't remember what they looked like when they started. Can't be a senior moment, I'm not old enough yet. It must be the 100's of "mind expansion vacations" I took in my youth in SF....Nah!

Stoner, you seem to have really nice local rock, also. Some of yours look familiar. Where is "local" for you, if you don't mind my asking?

Stoner, those are really pretty! I just put the ones you sent me in the tumbler Wednesday, now I am really anxious to see them! I think the before and after pics if a great idea. I have thought of doing that several times because I have the same problem remembering what's what when they are done. I just never remember to actually take the before pics until they are already in the barrel and spinning! One of those Senior Moments - and I am old enough! llana

Nice job and I sure like the looks of your next batch. That's an interesting thought, taking before and after pics. I'm with Llana though ... never would remember to do it. Second pic, lower left. Dark stone with bluish white on it, any idea what it is. It looks really neat and like it would be a great size for a pendant.

Hi all. Puppie, I'm out west in sunny Calif, San Jose to be exact. The local rock in this pic comes from Redwood City, about 30 miles north of me. Cher, that stone is really cool looking in person, almost like snowflake obsidian, but it's not. Next time I'll wait for a sunny day to take pics so I can capture the true colors.

Hey Ed, there's another, second down on the top right (2nd pic). Is that rutilated? It looks like it's got lots of straight lines like it might be or does the rutilated stuff only appear in clear quartz? .... See what I know Cher

Very nice batch and nicely tumbled. Looks like one lonely piece of tiger eye (second pic, centre), or am I seeing things?
That next batch looks like it will be even better!
