I got these from "Redwoodrocks" a long time ago and finally got around to running them. The different banding on the Sunset Jasper has a metallic look and is a great contrast when it shows up next to the yellow. I don't think the photo shows the metallic reflection real well. The Zebra Jasper is translucient on pieces that are thin, so it looks sort of like wood grain in glass. The details are not easy to see unless you actually handle it and hold some of them up to the light, but this is a fairly good representation, and I don't seeing any of this posted in a while. Sunset Jasper- Zebra Jasper- Thanks for looking.

Hi Banjo, You have some great shapes there, lots of stuff that would look great wrapped for a pendant. I think that metallic stuff is bands of hematite, I just love the contrast to it. I guess I just love jasper period, there's such variety to it. Thanks for posting, hope all is well with you down there in sunny AZ. It's sunny here today, for a change but there's also nearly a foot of frozen rain on the ground. Yuck!

you really are putting some nice rocks out banjo! i like that you separated them because i don't think i was getting a clear picture of how beautiful the zebra jasper was as the autumn jasper was more eye catching. thanks.

ok, i am formally confused....i am issueing a formal request to Cal (Redwoodrocks) to identify all this jasper again.....what you (Banjo) anre calling Autumn Jasper (the cool stuff with hematite(?) bands i thought was Sunset Jasper....cuz i got some of that too....thought it was Zebra and got corrected. what i thought was Autumn jasper didn't shine at all and i later think i identified it as dolomite, not jasper at all.....i ordered more "autum jasper" from Cal and got something totally different than waht i'd thought (not bad, but just different).
help, i am losing my mind!!

KD- You are correct. I don't know what I was thinking. The top stuff is "Sunset Jasper". Re-do, Re-do!! I'll stand by the Zebra Jasper though. Unless some one knows better. I modified the original post. Sorry for any confusion.

It's all nice stuff but I particularly like the sunset jasper. It certainly has a metallic sheen to my eyes. Nice job!
