And you're in Arizona? That's nuts. It's only 27 here but we don't have much snow and the sun is shining. No wind so I say it's not too bad here, too. Snow really is beautiful- when you're looking at it from inside a cozy house. Or maybe when you're out in the woods or somewhere peaceful watching it fall. Not so beautiful when you want to find rocks or have to shovel! Northern AZ is really different from the low desert. We're at about 4,700 feet. The higher you go, the more snow you get. When we were up on the mountain we were at about 6,300 feet. We used to get hammered all the time up there. Sure was beautiful though. It was all Ponderosa pine forest.

Flycatcher was my second guess... or phoebe. Hummingbird! In the snow! How can it eat enough to keep up with the calories it's burning? He's a goofy little bird. Last year he stayed all winter. For tiny birds, they're really tough. The Anna's are the only ones that will do that. The rest of them take off and usually don't come back until the middle of March or so.

One of cool geographical element of AZ Is its ability to experience all type temperature inversions Couple hour drive get out the stifling heat Or in the winter go skiing sometimes The Snow Bowl should be getting some real good snow out of this one.

Looks like you got slammed by this winter storm. We got a dusting of snow here (northwest of Phoenix)but it melted pretty quick and we had rain/slush after that. Glad I'm not having to shovel but it would be fun to make a snowman although I think your snow is too wet to make a good snowman. Yeah, we got it good this time. Seems to be tapering off a bit now and it's melting so it's really wet. I considered making a crippled snow angel after I finished Round 3 of shoveling, but decided I didn't want to be soaking wet.

Good decision, it's not nice being soaking wet and cold.

Then I get to do it again. That's called job security.

Woke up this morning to 3" of stuff from overnight. Went outside and shoveled that and as soon as we were done, we get more snow.
It just stopped snowing about an hour ago, so back out we went to clean it up again. Then I saw this:
Hallelujah!
The saw shop is back open for business.
