My Notifications used to tell if I were tagged, quoted, liked etc. Now they tell me who posts in threads I have seen. Did I push the wrong button somewhere? I'd like it to go back to the initial notification categories, not include every action. Thanks.

I'd like it to go back to the initial notification categories, not include every action. Thanks. Pat, I only see notifications for quoted threads, likes, and tags. Never have seen anything related to getting a notification for someone posting in threads (if I understand your issue correctly). However, go into editing your profile and see what check boxes are selected under "notifications." If everything looks good, I'd suggest deselecting all boxes and then saving. Afer that, go back into that, select the options you'd like to see notifications for and then save again. See if that works. |

aDave Yes, you understand my issue. Liked, Quoted, and Tagged were checked for Instant. Bookmarked was as well. However, the issue appeared starting February 22, 2019. I deselected all and saved, left the forum, returned and selected Liked, Quoted, and Tagged only. Left forum again, returned to see what's what. Same thing. EXAMPLE aDave posted in the thread NOTIFICATION goofiness. 8 hours ago aDave quoted you in the thread NOTIFICATION goofiness. Re Saving, when I make a change, a green rectangle appears next to the item changed that says SAVED! That is the only SAVE I see. Is there another SAVE on the page? Thanks for your help.

Pat - as aDave said go into your profile, edit profile, notifications tab and peruse the list of the various notifications you can receive.

Tommy. I did that. Still goofy. I checked Like, Quote, and Tag. I still get Posts.

Hmmm...interesting. You have me scratching my head. Can you try deselecting and reselecting with a different browser? Maybe sign out and then sign back in? Clear your browsing history, cookies and cache? I'm just taking wild guesses , so don't bank on any of that stuff working. |

Appreciate your help. have you noticed if the notifications are coming from a specific board or from all of the boards on the forum? I'm thinking maybe you inadvertently activated a notification for when a particular board is posted in? The way to check this is to go into the board where the notifications are originating from and click on "actions" and "notification settings."  Then you can check the settings of the board and see if it is set to notify you when someone posts there. If this has happened then these settings will override the overall forum settings from your profile.  |

Ps. I'm going to move this thread to the Forum Technical Help area where it is accessible by the entire forum. Maybe others can chime in if they are seeing any new notifications coming for actions they didn't ask to see them for.

I am on two forums—- RTH and Nextdoor. I don’t know if Nextdoor is a pro board or not. No other group thing.
POSTED started on February 22. I suspect I inadvertently hit the
Wrong button.
Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll follow up ASAP.

-By "board", do you mean thread?
-ACTIONS does not give a Notification Options choice.
It happened only on February 22 and 23.
It happened on 8 recent johnw threads , and julieooly's post re her Etsy shop ((by alikat only)
Posts by RTHlings alikat , mossy, sax player, rockpickerforever, raw, look at that and rockjunquie were noted by POSTED.
No POSTEDS since then. Interesting. If you want to pursue this, I'm happy to help. Also happy to drop it since the fluke has faded.
