Pretty sweet! Do you use one of Al Sesona's intarsia machines? Lynn

Absolutely amazing! That is so beautiful and it boggles the mind the work that went into it.
Do you still do intarsia?

That is absolutely outstanding! (I had to pick a word that was different than rockjunquie 's. ) It boggles the mind to see what you've done.

As requested, for the newer members, here are some photos of a candy dish I made out of Graveyard Point Plume agate (Idaho). The base is a pentagon shape, as opposed to the hexagon shape I used for the agate fruit bowl. All pieces were polished front and back prior to assembly. This one only took about 250 hours to complete. It measures about 6-inches across. I'm not too happy about the photos, but they give you the idea anyway. I hope you enjoyed seeing this. I never have decided what type of candy to put in it. Rock candy maybe? Only 250 hours? Holy cow, talk about a time investment.
It's gorgeous and Ali's suggestion of butterscotch works, or how about some lovely caramels?

Totally splendiferous!! I would never have the patience to see that through to completion, even if it only took a fraction of that time.
Very innovative, and you did a great job on it. A piece of art!

I can't find proper words to describe your project, that haven't already been used. Certainly a piece that will be appreciated by all who see it. The nice part of that, it will last forever.

Thanks James. You should try it! All you need is a few rocks and a month or so with nothing else to do.
