I finally got a few of my Christmas projects done. The first is a Ladybug necklace for my youngest nephew's wife. She loves ladybugs and I think she will really like this. Hope so anyway! The keyrings are for the boys. Don't know if they will actually use them or if they will even hold up to the load of keys the boys have, but I do know they are different fron any keyrings they have ever had before! Thanks, Kim, for this idea that I stole from you! The one on the left and the center one are parrot wing. Both off the same rock. The center piece was off the end and I tumbled it. The one on the left I shaped on the grinder from a slab I cut further into the same rock. Not sure what the one on the right is. It was from a slab I got somewhere. Must be something kinda special though, because the slab had $8.00 marked on it. I know I didn't buy it, so it must have been from one of the several boxes of slabs BE and I picked up here and there. It's a pretty cool looking stone, wish I had another slice or two. llana

Thanks ya'll. I really like the ladybugs too and was so delighted to find them at FireMountain. Sure made it easier to decide what kind of necklace to make from Kathryn! Wish the other's were as easy. I'm thinking about keeping one of the keyrings for myself! My keys are on the same tag I got from the Ford dealership when I bought the truck two years ago! But I guess it wouldn't be nice for me to keep one of the boy's Christmas present for myself since I don't have another one of the keyrings to make another one with! llana BTW, Stoner, I would like some more of your local rocks!

Thanks all!
The new manager of the RV park told me yesterday that I could put some of my stuff in the lobby to sell. Needless to say, I had already thought of that and was just waiting for the right time to talk to him about it. SOOOOO, I need to get myself busy and make some stuff. The keyrings are so easy and relatively inexpensive to make. I think they would be a good seller, esp. out of local rock. I need to find some really nice pieces of flint and slab it up for keyrings.

love the ladybugs! and your keyrings look a LOT better than my first attempts!! by a long way!!
one tip tho, i had one friend that the wire work hardened and broke after using it as a "real" keychain for more than a few months....he didn't lose the stone and re-fastened it with a larger (gage) piece of wire....
just to let you know!
