Ok, I'm not going to do this with every one but here's one I think is ready for the tumbler- since I don't have a cabber yet. It came from Mr. Walt and I believe it's granite. A very nice green color in person... I think it's the third or fourth that will to be tumbled I sure hope tumbling works for these. Again any advice, tips, or criticism is more than welcomed. Thanks for looking!

Well I don't know diddly, either, but I'm with Tela. I think it will tumble just fine.

Looks good. Only thing I would do is round the top edges a little. Tumbling will round them some.

I'll check on it in a week or so and if the scratches are gone but it looks like it could use shaped a bit more I'll give it some more grinding.

I've tried tumbling three times now.. the last failed attempt about a year ago is when I found this forum! And a couple months later is when I made my first cabochon!!
Haha I still have not successfully polished any of my rocks in the tumbler though... I think I was told I need some kind of ceramic pellets or something to put in said tumbler with the rocks..! Best of luck to you!

Best of luck to you! swaver101 I've been successful with tumbling, but haven't finished tumbling any of these "cabs" that I'm trying to shape with the dremel. When I first got into this tumbling business a friend of mine here on RTH told me to collect pea-sized gravel when I was out hounding to tumble with my stones. She was right, but you can also purchase pea gravel fairly cheaply. Or you can use ceramic or plastic pellets. I've been experimenting with them all and so far pea gravel works nicely. Of course there are exceptions, another friend told me to make sure and use plastic pellets with my obsidian. If you have any questions, just ask the great folks here and you'll get as much help as you need.
