My grandson asked me to make him a pendant of Thor's hammer. Just finished it.

Priceless piece. Great execution. Any solder used or just wire work? Chuck

Priceless piece. Great execution. Any solder used or just wire work? Chuck Thanks, it's all wire. I was gonna do a piece with sheet/etching and I still might. But, all of my soldering stuff is still packed. I didn't want to put it off too long. He's a teenager. He could be over the Viking phase next week. LOL!

That's pretty neat. Have you done very many pieces without stones? How viable a market would that be? I could see you doing ornate crosses and other symbols. ETA: Then again, maybe a cab automatically increases value and a better return on time invested.

ETA: Then again, maybe a cab automatically increases value and a better return on time invested. I haven't done too many. It doesn't interest me very much. I did think about adding a cab to this. I used to do a lot of netting and did a bunch of it without stones. But, I have never really considered selling it. I mostly gave the away.

Very cool! You'll have to let us know if he loves it... I probably won't see him for a few days. My daughter will probably pass it on to him. But, yeah, I hope he likes it.

My daughter just gave it to him. The look on his face, not withstanding, he loves it and couldn't wait to put it on. When he asked me to do it, I told him I would do a sheet piece, but he was disappointed and wanted something wrapped. I'm glad he asked. This is my youngest grandson. He's 14. My little rock pup is growing up.

He's a very handsome young man, rockjunquie! His pose is his "Thor look" pose.

This pendant was a huge hit with my grandson. He never took it off! It started to age beautifully. However, he broke the clasp and it fell off. He must have dropped it getting out of the car where it was ran over. He was heart broken. My daughter brought it by yesterday for me to see if I could fix it. The bail was smashed flat and it had road rash, which actually looked kinda cool- prematurely aged it. With my little hammer, a block and pliers, I was able to fix it up good as new. Wish I had taken pictures, but I didn't think about it.
I also let him pick a tumbled stone for a pendant. He picked a nice Kambaba that he said reminded him of H. P. Lovecraft. Oddly- it reminded DH of Lovecraft, too. He and my grandson are best buds, so I guess it makes sense.
