It's been a few months since my world got rocked, and I finally got out to Burro Creek. I sent some Agate for Sandsman to slab for me, and to get his approval. The rock is much better in the new location I found and I have a map for an even better place next time I go out. I though I'd post a few shots of the 'Burro Creek Agate" I picked up out there. Here it is dry- Here it is spritzed for color- I even ran some for a week in 60/90 and took a look at it. I needs to go a couple of weeks more, I guess, but I am pleased with my find- Thanks for peeking ;D

Hey Banjo. How are things going for you? That's some nice rock and it looks like it's gonna shape up nicely. Can't wait to see the grand finale.

Thanks Ed- Adjustments have to be made, but I am carrying on. I'm keeping busy making jewelry, polishing and tumbling. There is a real theraputic effect when spending time with these rocks.

WoW Banjo, that stuff looks awesome, what great colors. I can't believe the size of those chunks of agate, geez I need a bib here. ;D I see quite a few pieces in the stuff you had in 60/90 that I'd like to try some wire on. *smile* WTG, great find!! I can't wait to see it finished.

Those are beautiful Banjo, both rough and polished! What a wonderful place to hound, and what wonderful rocks you've found! I hope and believe this is a healing for you. Keep us up to date on the progress. Burro Creek almost sounds like a mystical place ;D

Well John, my friend, you should only have a day or two left cause I sent them out to you Tuesday. You keep ME informed. I value your opinion. It's a three hour drive to get there, but it's the sand that is a bear to get through. About 6 miles of dry washes full of soft sand. It kept my butt tight trying to drive through it without getting stuck. Thanks all!

glad you didn't get stuck in the sand! you really must know what you are looking for, cuz dry, those rocks just look like...well, rocks. do you take your spritzer bottle with you when you hound? or once you know what you are looking for, they are easy to spot?
that is a great find, wish we had some of that agate lying around in these parts!

Hey Banjo,
Man, it looks like you found a great spot!
I wish I still lived in Colorado or Washington or Utah or California or Oregon or ... well ... you get the picture. We were always out rockhounding, my son and the four wheel Toyota. There have been times when the old Toyota was on two wheels and teetering to the other wheels and then it off again we would go.
Someday, when I am financially stable ... I will be back in the hills teetering on two wheels again!
Nice photo's they look like they wil turn out some beauties!

Nice to see you back on track Banjo. Great batch of rocks you collected . and what a progress just after 60/90 grit which surely shows good promise.
Thanks for showing.

Phoenix- The location of the Creek is about 6 miles East of Nothing (I kid you not, Nothing Arizona, populatiion - 4). Between Winckenburg and Wikieup. KD- Don't need the spritzer cause the agate is very plain and the area is like littered with it. When I go back I am told I need to dig for the blue and purple. I'll have to take some photos next time. It looks similar to this field of yellow Jasper. Only it as a fiels of agate...
