Hello again ... I am getting in a few last photo's before the new year ... I hope you like them! What a way to bring in the new year! Iris Agate has a way of making every day just a little bit brighter! This awesome cab captures every color of the color spectrum and the camera doesn't even begin to capture the true essence of this stone! This is Montana Dendritic Agate and it has one of the nicest trees that I have been able to find. You can litterally cut three hundred pounds of Montana Agate and not ever find a tree this nice! Laguna Agate with Drusy! Now this one is something else ... the drusy crystals appear to be white along the edges of the cavity ... but as you get into the center of the stone the crystals pick up the red from the agate and they appear to be raspberry in color - a very interesting combination! I just love Laguna Agate! This cab has a small drusy cavity as well and the colors ... Oh My God! This is Laguna Agate as well, it is perfectly clear with light pink and orange bands near the center of the stone. The colors do not show up very well ... but they are there! Well, that is what has been helping me to stay busy the past couple of days. I am currently working on two different orders and hopefully they will be ready to go in the mail as of Monday! Happy New Year! John

Wow, amazing stuff! I love that iris agate -- looks like a Cassini spacecraft pic of Saturn's rings, with some iridescence thrown in for good measure.

Your work is fantastic John!! I'm partial to Montana agate and I know what you mean about finding a tree like that. I like the Laguna's and Iris agates but the Montana is a real "keeper" !! Thanks,,,,,,,,,, Tom

Hello everyone ... Thanks for the kind words and comments. I just love rocks ;D K.D. - Before you know it you'll be out cutting me! It is just a matter of time. Want to try something a little different? It is a lot of fun and you will definitely see a difference in a years time ... Take one cab a week (put the date on the back of the cab or write it on a piece of paper that you wrap the stone in) ... something that you have cut yourself ... and put it aside, somewhere and don't look at it ... then each week following take another cab and set aside as well, and continue this for a years time. Then, next year ... take out all of the cabs that you have put into your (dresser, show box, cabinet, etc.) ... you should have 52 cabs and you will be able to see how you have progressed in your cutting skills within a years time. It's fun to see what you thought was one of your better cabs in March, compares to the cabs you will be cutting in November or December. Like I say ... it's just a matter of time. The more you cut ... the better you will become. Learning becomes a passion and if each piece is better than the last one you cut ... you will soon become a world class cab cutter! Take care and have a safe and enjoyable New Year! John

I love the last one. Can a stone be understated and stunning at the same time?

Hi John,
Totally superb work in my view - I can't do that or even get close to it.
And the samples themselves are totally symetrical - phew. Thats what I just did when I saw the pics .........
phew - and scratched my brow !!!

Cheers John.
