Well, I am so pleased with the way this turned out despite all the cracks in the stone, it polished up rather nicely.
And yipes, it is one hard stone! I was getting a thorough drenching from the spray on the trim saw and this was still sparkin'!
Here are the slabettes, and the finished piece. I will now be seeking out a Gem Club friend to help me figure out the best presentation: soldering, wire wrapping, a glue on bail, but something simple and elegant, so my cousin can give this to his wife as a reminder of their vacation in Aruba!
