A fairy, angel, friend, family member, I don't know who, but somebody must have seen me going through tumbling withdrawls, cause in the mail today I got this: Big old honking 15# Thumblers model B! It was shipped directly from a factory in New York, but I have know idea from who. Whoever you are THANK YOU! I've ordered some 60/90 grit as my coarse used to be 120/220 with the vibe. Now I'm going to print the 4 part instructions on the home page to use this baby. I don't even know if I can come up with 15# of compatable rocks, but I'll find a way. YEE HAAWW! My repaired/new trim saw should be here soon too. Lookout rocks, here I come! Did I set it up right? It run sooo quietly! Well without rocks in it, anyway ;D cookie

Looking good, Cookie! When I'm operating at normal mode, I keep two of those running on just 60/90 or 120/240 all the time. You don't need to worry about compatibility too much until the polish stage. I keep one running 60/90 all the time and then sort out and run the second Model B on 120/240 as I get enough for a full load. Of course I have my Lortone Model 45C running prepolish and polish as well. I really considering buying the small mini-sonic tumbler just for polishing. Need to save some money first! Better buy lots of grit, that baby takes one pound of grit at a time. Ron

Wow! What a nice surprise. I'm sure you will make good use of it. I've had my model B running for 4 weeks now, I love it! And yes, it takes a lot of rock.
Enjoy!!!!!!!!

Well, that's too neat! Any idea who the tumbler fairy might be? You best be gettin' busy collectin' rocks! That baby holds a boat load of them! I'll be sending you some flint in exchange for those you are sending me, but it might be a while before I can get out and collect some. llana

It's good to know I can mix hardness in coarse, I may have to dump everything I have in there. I only odered 2 lbs of grit cause I wasn't sure, so I'll get more. Sounds like that's, what, 2 weeks worth, a first run? Ron, I do recommend the vibe for polishing. It's so fast and youre past the shaping stage so that's not an issue. Llanna, I think I might know. We have a family member who is our "angel". Whenever somebody needs something for, say, clothing for a special event, expenses when someone is ill, ect, a cashiers check or object just kinda shows up. I think it is a paticular aunt and uncle of mine, but none of us have ever known for sure. God Bless 'em, whoever it is! Yep, I'm all atingle ;D

That is a terrific Unit. I like em so much I got 2 of them and they are Always running. I just pop them open and go through everything and when I get enough for 120/220 I fill a 6 or 12 pound Lortone. Meanwhile I just keep shoveling rough in the 'Big Red' Thumblers. You are going to LOVE it! I just got a new set of rollers a month ago, so I figure they will go for quite a while again. I'm real happy for you. I'm doing my 'Snoopy happy dance' for you. ;D

Someone in your family is definitely an angel! What a nice thing to do. You're gonna be able to afford a new vibe now that you won't be spending money for smokes! And you can get the oven fixed! Of course, a new vibe is much more important than the oven! llana

WOW Cookie, lucky you, that's great. I was just digging through my rocks yesterday to find a few to send to you and Llana, looks like you'll need them. ;D Won't be shipping them until next week, I'm not going outside until it warms up, it's been in the -20 + range for the last 2 days. Maybe next Tuesday, I'll let you know.

Hello Cookie,
Talk about a great deal!!! I have the opposite in my kin folk ... seems that they are always wanting me to give ... for some odd reason!
That is a beauty! Congratulations ... are you still using the vibe?

The vibe kicked the preverbial bucket, but I still think it's the way to go for polish. When I have time I'm gonna break it down and try to fix it (Yuk Yuk, like I can fix anything mechanical). Better than throwing it away. At least untill I've brought it to the point of absolute no return. NO FEAR! AIN'T SKEERT!
