UPDATE: Did my first cab and I love it. Still has some natural voids which I like. I didn't even notice the yellow so much till I took pictures. Well- I can't add a picture here so it will be at the end of the thread. --------------- I found this slab on ebay with really great contrast and cool lines. I grabbed it. When I got it, I saw how flippin' ate up it was. Most of the black areas were not just voids, they were caverns! The seller stated simply "natural voids". OMG! What an understatement. So, I contacted her and she gave me my money back. I expressed how much I loved the slab and she sent me one with far less voids. Between the two I should be able to get a couple cabs. I think they should be pretty nice. Brecciated mookaite 1st slab front, close up and back 5x3" The 2nd slab front back and close up I may try to fill some on the second one. They aren't nearly as bad.

Sure is pretty. I can see why you bought it. Hope you're able to get some cabs out of it.
We have some brecciated mookaite that we bought probably 7 or 8 years ago now and it looks nothing like those slabs. Really interesting. I'll have to get a picture of our stuff and post it for you to see.

Thanks, yeah, post it. I'd like to see it. I had some yellow brecciated mooka a while back and it was really stable. This- not so much! LOL!

That should hopefully make some sweet cabs for you, I love the patterns! Yep, it's all in the description. My son bought a little boat not too long ago and as we were walking up to it the lady showing it to him said the inside of the boat was "a blank slate." Yeah, that meant that there were no seats or carpet in it.

I'm happy.

That is a stunner. I'm sure you'll make some beauties from that! You could maybe fill the voids with black epoxy?

I got out the hxtal today for the better of the two. MISTAKE. I don't know what I was thinking. I did not tape up the back. The hxtal just ran through. Then, I didn't catch it fast enough and the sticks underneath glued to it. What a dumb move.... Maybe I'll have better luck next time. LOL!

Your slab is now backed with sticks! Just what you wanted - stabilization!

It is really pretty. Too bad the seller was not up front about the voids. I don't know what the original pictures looked like, but I can hardly see them even in the ones you posted above. It was nice of them to try and make it up to you though. That is going to produce some striking cabs, real eye catchers.

Heck, I knew you would knock it out of the ball park! Nice cab!! Great work too, with what you had to work with!

Heck, I knew you would knock it out of the ball park! Nice cab!! Great work too, with what you had to work with! That was a corner that had the least of the large voids. I didn't put as much hxtal there, but it held together pretty well. I like it.
