Last weekend the weather was just too nice for anything but adding to the rock pile . So off to one of the local gravel pits we went . Lot of new material was dug up since the last time we were there . Brought home a few buckets of decent rock . Here is a sample of the haul . Bunch of this , Couple of these , And a few of these , All in all , it was a pretty good weekend . Too bad all there is this weekend is white rocks . I'm tired of winter . Thanks for looking .

Rich, are the rocks in the second picture Lakers? I have a couple like them. Yeah , they are lakers . We don't usually find many as intact as those . Last pic has lakers in basalt , in the rock on the right . Big ole hunk of conglomerate on the left has another laker off the pic .

Do the red ones contain iron? Most of the reds have streaks or blotches of iron . Some have little dots of iron . Still looking for more of the bigger banded ones for someone .

Maybe some thomsonite in that basalt cobble on the left? Don't think so , that is just a chunk of conglomerate bout a foot across . But I'll dig it out of the snow and take another look . Two agates for sure though .

Thank You . Smaller one needs to hit the saw , not a window on it .
