Here's some fun stuff to do with the rocks. I had to do indoor/outdoor shots because I couldn't decide which I liked better. Color is more natural outdoors, but less shine (I think). Hope the sizing worked out okay!

I am going crazy with the sizing. Can somebody help? I edit them with photobucket, but when I go there it says it is a smaller size than what's coming up over here. (If I right click on these and click on "properties," the dimensions it gives me don't match the ones on photobucket.)
Thanks for the comments (you guys are QUICK!!) The columnar bud vases are about 6 inches high and 1-1/2 wide and cost a whole $.97 at Walmart. Gumball machines were on major post Christmas sale and I got this one for well under $10. It looks super cool in real life.

What are the sizes Photobucket is giving you? Are they in inches or pixels? If you want you can e mail me one of your photo's in it's original size and I can tell you what to do. Tom

Any body got a quarter? I love that idea! The pics I download from my camerea go into the program at 1600 pixels. Sometimes I resize in the program, but have gotten better luck letting Photo Bucket resize for me. Just remember, once they have been resized to a smaller size Photobucket can only cut them down from the new size, not the original. And the first choice, 75%, is Leaving 75% of the original size, not taking away 75%. Can you tell how many pixels the pics are before they go to photo bucket? Remember that anything over a certain size (I can't remember what, but it will tell you) is automatically resized to fit in thier forum, and is reduced further from there, if you choose. I go in at about 1600 pixels (unless I crop first, then it's a little less) and then reduce it in Photo Bucket by 25% (the first option, 75% of original size) and they seem to be a good size. If I resize before going to Photo Bucket, they seem to loose some clarity.

pups, I LOVE the gumball machine! That is just too neat. Can you put a coin in it and get a rock? Like the others too, but that gumball machine full of polished rocks is A++++ all the way!

HeeHeeHee, Llana and others! I love the gumball machine, too. In fact, I love it so much that I actually hesitated for a minute before I gave it up...but hey, how could I keep secrets up here? And YEAH! it does take a coin! You can set it so no coin is required, but I have it set so it needs a coin. But that is ANY denomination of coin and the coin drop doesn't have a lock on it, in fact, if you move the machine around much, the bottom unscrews itself. That's probably because it's the el-cheapo type. BUT, it is really nicely constructed, it's not plastic, all metal painted in that authentic red color. I love it!
About the sizing...I have no idea what happened, but when I came back just now the photos had magically become the correct size. Maybe that means that the editing I had done with Photobucket had somehow not yet been saved? Who knows what powers are lurking out there in the ether.

BTW... I have only ever sold a few rocks and I gave the money to a guy who had a sudden heart problem at age 53 and became disabled, couldn't work -- an athlete, too. Awful. When he was a kid he was into rocks and tumbling, which I found out when I was babbling about my new addiction. It just seemed right to sell rocks for the cause when he went down last summer.
At the time I was thinking, a gumball machine set up at the place where he coached would be perfect, but I did a search and the cost was prohibitive, so I just put them out in a bowl on the honor system. Then gumball and jellybean machines got hot out here around Christmas. Or maybe not so hot, since they seemed to go on rock bottom sale starting weeks before Christmas, depending on the store. Of course now that I want to buy more I can't find them anyplace. A bunch of other penny pinchers musta come out at the same time I did, and snapped 'em all up. Boohiss. We oughta stone 'em. I'm thinking I should put one of these out in my craft booth this spring, where I sell completely unrelated stuff. I bet it would get a lot of interest and spare change. Cookie, are you listening?

Totally awesome idea. And a great way to pick up spare change at a booth. I've never seen them around here but you might find some by googling them.
