Didn't think a couple miles down the road to a gravel pit was worthy of a trip report . We picked it over pretty well last fall and with no new diggins all winter , didn't expect much . Actually expected it to be snowed in yet . But we went anyway and came home with a few good rocks . First one is kind of a mossy laker , Next one is a small basalt full of tiny lil agates about 3/16" or so . Think micro cabs . Next one is ? Not sure if it is some kind of petrified algae or sea goo or what . If anyone can clue me in to what it is , please do . I would appreciate an Id . Not an agate . Thanks for takin a peek

Lookin good. It must be nice to just go out the front door for a walk and luck in to some nice gemstone quality rocks. I like the agate looking one in the last photo. Time to throw it in the ol' tumbler.

Time to throw it in the ol' tumbler. Thank You . Contrary to what I was thinking a month and a half ago when we were butt deep in snow , there could be worse places to live . But I'm still looking for a gemstone quality rock . Lotta ugly to paw through before coming up with anything worth hauling home .
