I see fire! Koroits and boulder opal are hard to work because they are so soft and muddy and the opal is harder. Not bad for a noobie.

Agree, and you also managed to capture the play of color in your photos (I have fits trying to do that).

I'm scared to cut deeper though, doesn't show in the pic but just under that sand inclusion is a green fire line on top of the blue. What do you guys/gals think

Can't see well enough to comment on the sand inclusion and fire lines but, speaking very generally, for me, an indication of blue fire needs to be pretty saturated with some hint of brightness before I would chase it. I feel that in most cases green often presents better odds than blue.
Your cabs in your first photo are great! Together with its fire, the light/dark patterns in the brown/ironstone of the one on the right of the pair is a winner.

Can you post a more close up picture of the last one so we can see it better?

In 2008, I bought a $100 parcel of Koroit. The good news is that I got a lot of practice cutting it. The bad news was that my parcel didn't contain good material to work with. I have a few cabs that I cut but nothing like what was being displayed here at the time I bought. As a hobbyist I won't spend what is required to get great material.

I was going through my riker boxes and found this cab. A spot of blue flash bottom right. What I can't stand about Koroit is the soft pockets which this cab has. If I can stabilize, I don't mind grinding it down some even risking anything interesting disappearing.
