Yea, you're right, BBRRRRRRR. It wasn't a good day out here in Calif either. The sun didn't burn thru the fog until around 3PM. I better shut up. Last time I bragged about our weather(Christmas day) it rained for 15 days straight. Sorry Cal.

Ed,
It was beautiful all day on my side of the hill. I took the kids to the Santa Cruz wharf to do a little fishing. I had them all bundled up figuring it might be a little cold and windy.
But, as I was driving down, I thought that I should bring the camera along to show everyone my little piece of the world. But, if I did take any pictures, I figured I would jinx us with another 10 days of straight rain!
It was warm enough that the kids were running around with their sweatshirts off! There were even folks walking around in shorts!
Is this big storm that is hitting the northeast and upper midwest expected to head south? I am going to be in Tennessee and Arkansas all next week. And, have a 5 hour drive on Tuesday night from TN to AR. Being a wimp from California, I sure would hate to get by snow and freezing weather!
Cal
Ps. It is supposed to rain next week in California!

OK Ed you can rub it in but there's absolutely no chance of a good old fashion California mud slide here today!! LOL I just took our dog Homer out and his"thingy" got stuck to the ground while he was doin' his "duty"!!
Had ta give um a good swift kick in the butt ta free um up!! LOL,,,LOL
I took the 2 photo's looking out of an open window.I wanted to do the same this morning but don't dare open the window with the 45+MPH wind that's blowing the snow everywhere!!I'll let the snow stop before I take another.
Andy I love taking photo's that have a natural look to them.I'm having a difficult time going from a 35mm camera to a digital. My 35mm gave "me" complete control of all the settings but the digital wants to think for me and that sucks. Thanks for the compliment on our property. If you can believe we bought the property alone for $1500.00 USD in 1965.I built most of the house by myself in my spare time and it ended up costing me a total of $17,500.00 USD !We put a 2 floor 18'x24' addition on in 1992 which we needed like a hole in the head but don't dare tell my wife I said that!! LOL The current market for the house right now is just under $500,000.00 USD !!
"I" would sell in a heartbeat but for 3 reasons. One being that I would only be buying the same property I have now which would be crazy as the prices are outragous.
The second reason is by selling in a "heartbeat" my wife would make sure mine didn't beat any more!! LOL
The third is I don't want to disturb my tons and tons of rocks!!

I understand not wanting to take a cash offer on the property. You have put time there, have lots of rocks, and, could you replace it, and utilize the capital to implement something forward. With house, and land prices as they are, unless you go where you have to import water, you are better where you are. I had ten acres in Connecticut, I built our house by hand, and the ex got it in the divorce. Such is life. We sold our house in Punta Gorda, and we couldn't get a fix up for what we sold the house for two months later after Hurricane Charlie! We were lucky getting our house where we are. Even luckier to find an house we liked, could afford, and our shop ten minutes down the road. That is so unlikely to happen. I do miss Connecticut.

LMAO I had to shovel the 14 inches we got so My poor dogs could go out a pee- course the dang scottie ate a piece of his toy and had the runs in his crate- well he figured what the heck I'm in trouble so I mind as well take another one at the back so Sunday AM was not fun- But I did spend the afternoon Playing with my rocks- Cracked up som Botswainian AGATE (should be beautiful) and a couple of Jasper chunks- Then I checked some Ocean Jasper chips I have running in the Kiddie tumbler - hmm they seem to be coming along. then I went out a cleared the driveway (2 foot drifts that were SOLID) Then sent the doggies back out (they did not like the 4 degrees we had- but too bad- I shoveled for em they are gonna use the outdoor facilities!
