Hey guys and gals, Please indulge me for a moment. I have a little story to tell. In March of 1999 I lost my late husband to lung cancer. It was a home hospice, and all we had was each other. He had no family and mine was 1300 miles away. On his passing we lost our business and our home. I had a garage sale to get together enough money to move to GA to be near my family. I turned 40 one week after arriving and had little more than the clothes on my back. I had to start life over again. I was working at a mall about 40 miles from here when a young man came recruting for manager for a Bass shoe outlet 5 miles from my home. I had very little retail managment experience but applied anyway. The District Manager (Tammy) who interviewed me could easily have said "This lady doesn't have nearly enough experience, no way", but she listened to my story and saw something in me I guess, and gave me a shot. That was 5 years ago. That wonderful woman offered my life back up to me on a silver platter and taught me that I have more to offer than I ever dreamed possible. I am forever in her debt. She took me to lunch last week to tell me she is leaving the company. She has been my mentor, now she will be my friend. I will miss her as a supervisor and source of advise. Hopefully, I will not loose her as a friend. We vow to stay in touch. Anyway..... I made this set for her as a going away gift. I hope she likes it. Thanks, Sands for gifting me with that beautiful blue flint. I think she'll like it. Enjoy! cookie

Words fail, cookie. Not a doubt in the world she will love it. It's a beautiful set, but beside that, the heart and soul that have gone into it far out weighs the outward beauty we see. No one would not want a priceless match like that! No greater gift could be given. God Bless

Cookie-
I concur. There is nothing like a gift from the heart. Seems you two meshed and she will probably be overcome when opening that present. Be prepared w/ a couple of tissues. She will treasure those for a long, long time.

Cookie,
Your friend is definitely going to enjoy the jewelry and they will be treasured for years to come. Sounds like a very special relationship between the two of you. I honestly feel that both of you were blessed, by each other.
My Grandmother passed away just a little over a year ago and here is one of her favorite sayings:
"When I think about all of the things that I have been blessed with in my life, from large to small. The greatest blessings I have received ... are not really things at all"
It's funny how we remember little sayings like this, especially after the individual has passed. We don't think much about it when they are setting across the table and talking to us and then ... when they are gone ... these little sayings really stick with us. I guess it's our way of keeping a loved one in our hearts and in our mind.

She is going to love them, not just because they are beautiful and you are giving them to her, but because you made them will mean even more to her. I have always believed that the best gift you can give someone is something you made. I don't care what you make you always put a little of your self in it. You have handled it and you have put your positive energy into the piece. Tami

Cookie nothing is more precious in life then a true friend.
In giving her your gift,,,,,,,,,
You're giving her a piece of your heart as well and she will cherish them both forever.
Great job and a great heart too,,,,,,,,,

Dear cookie, It's true that I don't know you at all, but yet your warmth, your wit, and your love for people shines through your posts like little beams of sunlight. I'm sure that your friend will treasure your gift but then, I'm sure that she recognizes the treasure she has in you as a friend, and nothing is worth more than that.
Hey...by the way...my birthday is May 5! ;D
