I made these to see if I could do better cutting girdles. I shortened my dops so they wouldn't get away on the wheels and spent time on the girdles in each grit until I couldn't do any better. I graded my self c+ to B, barely acceptable but a big improvement over what I had been doing. I fixed a girdle on a cab I cut last week and it was much improved. I cut a clam chowder cab and the material is similar to Koroit; soft and messy. It took a good polish. For the flat top I fixed, I experimented with 3m double sided tape. I've used it before and it didn't hold. This time it did. I want to polish the back of the Montana I cut last week and I will try the tape. It comes off easily after cabbing and leaves little residue. Doming a cab requires more time on the wheels and exposure to water. It might work okay for polishing a back. I still need to work on the pictures. Clam chowder, Laguna, Laguna and Owyhee.

Stardiamond, I like #2 because of fantastic color and color change contrast.

I like #1 because of material, but the work is better with #2.

What do you mean "practice cabs?" they look great, especially 2 & 3. I bet in real life #4 looks great as well. The photography will come to you, too.
