I everyone, Here is a little of what I had left in my tumbler when the belt broke. The Tiger Eye came out fair. I am going to put it through again on my nest batch and see if I can get it just a little better. It's not bad ... but I think I can improve the overall finish. This is Petrified Dinosaur Bone and it's fair to poor ... mostly poor. I had a handfull of scraps and I thought I would see how they woult turn out. Needless to say that these will be put into the give away box for the kids at our craft shows. These Northern Mexico Agates came out extremely well and the various coloration of these agates are downright gorgeous! There are Laguna, Coyamito and Casa Grande. The problem with my belts was, the first time I started the unti with it's original belt ... it broke. So, I put on another belt that was used and nearly two years old and surprisingly it lasted for two days. I will get some new belts and I will be back in service ;D I have more photo's coming. Thanks for looking. John

OMG the banding on those agates is just stunning! Nothing wrong with the tiger eye either, least not that I can see.

Perhaps you just need to run the petrified dinosaur bone longer to get a better polish. Tami

Yea my dad informs me that LSA is not readily available - But one of his co-workers (who just gave away most of his Lap shop) Might have a thing or 2 laying around that I can have ;D We will see- I just talked to my sister and she has some Lakers and her best friend collects every spring- So with a little patience- I might get some!

Hi Tami,
No this Petrified Dinosaur Bone has had the last ride. The cells polished very nicely ... it is the cell structure thay is way to soft and thus does not allow a suitable tumbling material. It was not much good for cabbing either ... that's why I tried to tumble some.

Those Tigereyes are totally done. Good as it gets. Ive got a thing about tigereye - I cant do it right. I Hate seeing polished tigereye thats been done properly, as every time I see a batch like that it makes me want to go out and buy some more - and try again - and I do. So here goes. Next batch on its way is Tigereye - I WILL GET IT RIGHT!!
