Here's my first batch out of polish for 2005. Of course, these were started in 60/90 way back in 2004! The first shot is of the whole batch.
These are just odds and ends the batch that I have some crafting plans for. The two black ones on top next to the Tiger Eye are rainbow obsidian that I didn't even know was in the batch. I am tickled pink that they came out with such a good shine since they were done in this mongrel mix.
The first 10 on the left are some of the driveway rocks I used as fill; the next 4 are some of Stoner's local rocks; the 4 next to those are Laredo agate; the bottom right is petrified palm wood and the two above that are agatized pet. wood.
Quartz from here and there. Some that Cookie sent me, some I found at Lake Buchanan last year, a couple pieces of rose quartz from a big chunk Sands sent BE and I.
The green pieces I plan to use for a jewelry project I have in mind. The two on the left are Brazilian agate - two different rocks. The top and bottom ones in the middle are pieces of flint from around here. I really love that one on the bottom that is agatized thru the middle. Same with the piece of quartz in the middle. Although you can't tell in the pic, the quartz has a transparent strip in the middle. I have jewelry projects in mind for these three.
These are my four favorite pieces out of this batch. The dark area in the quartz is the transparent area.
Experiment with backlighting the Brazilian agate in the above pic. Need more practice on the backlighting thing!
I am really happy with the polish I got on these. The photo really doesn't do it justice. They were in the vibe in 500 for two days, 700 for two days, 1200 for 4 days and SuperLuster polish for 3 days.
What an improvement over my first batch of 2004! Wish I had taken some pics of it so I could compare!
