Got to head out and hunt for my birthday, here's a couple of pics. Thanks for looking! First an interesting piece of wood, showing both sides. One of the Fairburns that I found... And this was a birthday present from the rock gods, probably one of my favorite Fairburns that I've found yet. Posting two pics, one to show the size. Not huge, but super nice.

Wow that last one is killer. Nice finds. Chuck Thanks Chuck. I saw the ugly side sticking up (I didn't post a pic of that) but for some reason I decided to pick it up. I got pretty excited when I sprayed the dirt off and revealed the patterns...

Thanks Ali! I think it may be one of my top 10 that I've collected. So far... I am sure you'll find more, bigger and better, but that for sure to me is a self piece to be left as is Maybe- but I sure was happy with finding it. It's so crazy to me. The Oglala National Grassland is 94,480 acres. 1000 square miles. Of that 94,480 acres you have to figure out where to hunt and find a single rock that no one has EVER seen before. Yep, that one is definitely staying the way it was found. Natural.

There are places also that are private within the grasslands but I haven't tried to gain access into anyone's land yet. So all within I guess. We do look in the creek beds, especially after the snows we've had recently. We even check the ruts in the roads and cattle trails. And hillsides. And flats. And pastures. We walked about ten miles yesterday I think.

Wow, you did really well. That's a killer agate and I like the pet wood too. It's really great to get out after a long winter.
