i saw this technique in an issue in Lapidary Journal a few monthes back and thought..."hmmm, i could do that!", so i bought some Lacy's Stiff Stuff and some indelible markers and many, many, many hours later produced this. the first 2 pics are right before i glued the leather backing on, as you glue it then rubber band it to a soup can to dry, the last shot is the finished cuff bracelet: the cabochon is a piece of Royal Savannah Jasper that i got for Christmas. it was a practice piece really and it's still a bit rough in spots, but it was one of those stone where i was going to grind it into powder before i was happy with it, so i stopped while there was still some stone left. i'm gonna call it "Heart of the Sunrise". this endeavor is waaaaaaaaaay too labor intensive to sell for profit, i probably have 30 hours into it, but i may make a few more as gifts, labors of love, but it was fun to do. let me know what you think! Krazy. You gotta a lot of time on your hands. It looks professional however. Real clean. I bet if you do a few, it will go much quicker. When Jenne first learned to make necklaces a single necklace took forever. Today she can string a necklace and help out a customer. It takes time. You'tt get there.

I look at that and say Hhhhmmmm, I could do that" and then you said 30hrs and I thought "Hmmm, do I wanna do that?" That's really beautiful! Did you do the beading or did it come that way? What does the clasp look like, or do you just slide your hand into it? More Info, ya tease!

lol, Cookie, da beading is what took the 30 hours (if not more) and the clasp is a simple snap that is what that little tab is for..you wanna know the killer? i made it for me and it is 1/4" too short!!!! i didn't allow for the backing material!!! bugger!
anybody out there with a 5-3/4" wrist?

Gee whiz, KD, I just measured, 5 1/2. Drats! Did you string the beads or glue them individually?

the beads are back stiched. that means three on, go down with needle, come back up and go thru the last one, pull tight and string three more. obviously there is some wiggle room there.
i am willing to give this to Cookie as a Not Smoking Cuff after, hmmmmmmmmmm, 60 days of no nicotine, what say you all?

Running, running, running to find my tape measure!! Oh, darn, my wrist is too big at 6"! BooHoo! I do believe Cookie deserves it for quitting smoking. And, with her 5 1/2" wrist, it will fit her. And, I bet she will wear it proudly for two reasons - she quit smoking and you made it!
That bracelet is truly incredible!

That definately is a labor of love. I think this all is. I have not found a project yet I could possible charge to recoup the labor I put in to it. I must believe we all do it because we love it, period. If you can make a buck, great, but if I never see a dime again, let me at least work with my stones. Amen.

WOW ... I am totally amazed. You did a great job and are the Queen of Patience. I think that's a lovely incentive gift ... Cookster, it will be more than worth it, keep it up! The first two weeks are the hardest, after that it's a whole lot easier.

Wow, I've always been amazed with elaborate beadwork! Love how the colors used flow with the colors on the stone. Hoy cow, I must be a big boned girl, I got a 6 3/4 - 7 inch wrist!
