Hi all. Since my wife will be gone all of Feb on another business trip, I got a jump on Valentines day and made her this necklace. The stone is some kind of red plume agate. It kinda looks like a real heart with the different shades of red running thru it. Thanks for checkin' it out

very cool! now did you use a template for that or did you eyeball it? is that drilled at the top and what kind of attachment finding did you use or did you make that too?
i'm sure your wife will love it! a whole month away? she will keep it close to her!

what a beautiful gift! Truly from the heart. I am sure she will be delighted with it. Lots of men may buy their wife a heart pendant for Valentine's Day, but I bet there are few that actually make their wife a heart.
It's lovely!

Thanks all. I gave it to her Sunday, but then took it back to let the epoxy cure. I hung it right next to her laptop thinking she'd see it as she picked the laptop up. Well, come Monday morning rushing out the door to catch her plane, I went over and got the laptop and missed the necklace. So now I'm gonna make a set of earrings to go with the necklace and send the set to her hopefully before the 14th.
KD, no template, just eye-balled it. I drilled a hole on top and used something like an eye pin, except it's for beads, so instead of an eye, there is a flat at the end, kinda like a nail head. Anyway, so I stuck the head of the pin in the hole and filled it with epoxy, then added the coil and bead and formed an eye at the top. Over the years she has gotten a lot of hearts that I've made for her Valentine's gifts, wood, plexi-glass with red stained glass medium, etched glass, but this is the first one made from stone.
